Jared Beaver is a research assistant for water and natural resources for Bexar County. His position is a joint appointment of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Texas A&M Institute of Renewable Natural Resources, and Bexar County. As program coordinator, Beaver is promoting urban water conservation in Bexar County through programs such as the Texas Water Star and working with partners such as the San Antonio Water System and other Green Industry Alliance stakeholders. Beaver is also promoting water and land stewardship among small acreage landowners.
He received his bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Wake Forest University in 2008 and his master’s degree in wildlife and fisheries sciences from the University of Tennessee in 2011. He is currently pursuing his doctorate degree in wildlife and fisheries sciences at Texas A&M, studying white-tailed deer population ecology and habitat management at Joint Base San Antonio – Camp Bullis.
