What They Think of Burning in Texas

In order to understand the differences among county officials relative to burn bans and to provide a path to improvement, the Texas Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative commissioned the Texas A&M Institute of Renewable Natural Resources to conduct a survey of county officials. The goal of this survey was to capture both qualitative and quantitative criteria from commissioner courts, county fire officials/marshals and other public service officers as to how and why they make decisions for fire management. The result of the survey will be used to develop new outreach, education, policy and training to support counties on managing fire.
